Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair

Each year the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad offers emergency medical services to the Fredericksburg Agricultural Fair. As always our crews enjoy partaking in the fair as they get to interact with the community in a non-emergency setting.

We were able to offer a 911 unit onsite, staff the medical booth, provide the barrel train for entertainment, and staff a PR booth each day of the fair. Additionally we were able to provide designated unit for each of the major events hosted at the Motorsports Park. The events covered were: Truck Pull, Tractor Pull, Demolition Derby, Horse Pull, Monster Truck Rally and the Mud Bog.

We worked side by side with Spotsylvania County Volunteer Fire Department, Fredericksburg Fire Department, Fredericksburg Police Department. Together we addressed medical emergencies from the general public, injuries during the Motorsport park events, and the hunt for missing personnel.

We covered 677 man-hours of staffing between the 911 units required for city staffing and all above listed staffing at the fair between the dates of July 31 - August 9.

While we offer our time to ensure the safety of our community, we are not shorted on fun time and memories with our service-family. A few members of our crew were even able to challenge Fredericksburg Police Department in a friendly water gun match! Fortunately, the FPD officers were far more trained and accurate in their aim.

It is our great pleasure to participate in the fair each year and look forward to this time next year!
