Our Support Group
The mission of the FRS Support Group is to be available “24/7” to provide "auxiliary-type" services and support to EMS members of the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad. These services are particularly necessary when FRS members are on-scene of extended calls such as major catastrophes, fires, search & rescues, etc.
Additionally, the FRS Support Group renders non-EMS assistance to the FRS, such as but not limited to, promoting squad morale & welfare; assisting with special events; preparing and serving squad meals; assisting with the annual Fund Drive; general building maintenance and other supporting services.
Elected officers of the Support Group consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Devotional Leader, Public Relations Officer and a Parliamentarian. An active FRS member will also serve as Liaison between the Support Group and FRS, in a non-voting capacity.
The only Support Group membership requirement is a desire to help others. No special skills or talents are required. Membership is open to persons who would like to assist the squad but do not desire to staff an ambulance and run emergency medical calls. Our Support Group is made up of men and women of all ages who are interested in supporting the FRS. You do not need to be related to a squad member to join. The Support Group meets at our station on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Established in July 1994, the FRS Support Group organizes and implements their own fundraising events; and is to be affiliated with the FRS but to remain as an independent organization.
