Established in 1940, the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad is a non-profit organization supported by the city government, the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services and through generous donations from local citizens, businesses and groups like you. We continue to welcome your tax-deductible contributions today. Fredericksburg Rescue is a member of the Rappahannock Emergency Medical Services Council, Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads and the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services. From our squad's modest beginnings in 1940, when one vehicle and a handful of volunteers ran calls to the present, Fredericksburg Rescue continues to be an all volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives and serving our community! Our dedicated volunteers are of all ages, come from all walks of life and possess various levels of training ranging from drivers to EMTs and Paramedics. Many are certified in firefighting, hazardous materials operations, search & rescue, heavy rescue operations and scuba diving, just to name a few. But don't be intimidated, no experience is necessary; we offer free training to all of our members! A family-oriented squad, we are embedded in our community and dedicated to serving it. "Because We Care" our community dedication also includes sponsoring Blood Drives, Food Drives, Clothes Drives and more. Annually, we sponsor a Holiday Angel Tree and participate in St. Baldrick's Day. We've partnered with James Monroe High School, Bragg Hill Family Life Center and sponsor local Girl Scout Troop #737. We've also joined the "Adopt-A-Roadway" project by adopting a portion of William Street and we routinely send Military Care Packages to our squad family & friends serving our country overseas.
