This week, the Fredericksburg Rescue Squad installed three new officers.

Due to commitments with their careers, family, and school for certification upgrades, our previous Training Lieutenant, Special Events Lieutenant, and Public Information Officer needed to step-down from these offices. However, they will continue their commitment to the City of Fredericksburg by staffing 911 response ambulances.

Stepping-up to become our new Training Lieutenant is Wendy Shackleford, a long-time member and previous officer who is an EMT and Emergency Vehicle Operator.

Our new Special Events Lieutenant is Jacob Parcell, also an EMT and Emergency Vehicle Operator, who is also a recent graduate of VCU.

Taking my place as Public Information Officer, Tony Talbert, recently received his EMT certification and has been dedicating long hours as an Emergency Vehicle Operator for the Squad.

Tony has been the manager of our Instagram account for the last year and has done an outstanding job of expanding our reach to this dynamic community. For me, it has been a pleasure to serve as PIO and I am looking forward to his contributions to FRS and the city of Fredericksburg! He is an outstanding selection for this very interactive and public position.

Congratulations to all of our new officers! We are grateful for your dedication and work ethic, and are fortunate to share the Squad with you!
